Sidhilynx · Arsaze: Multi-Track Video Editor That Claude, ChatGPT and Grok Operate over MCP
Arsaze is a multi-track timeline video editor that you can edit by hand and that AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT and Grok can operate through its remote MCP server, with every agent edit playing back live and saved to version history. It adds Tab-style next-edit suggestions and an AI employee you brief in Slack or Instagram DMs. It suits creators and small teams who want their own AI assistant to cut, caption and grade on a real timeline they can keep editing.
Best for
Creators, freelance editors and small content teams who already use Claude, ChatGPT or Grok and want that assistant to do real cutting, captioning and grading on a multi-track timeline they can watch, undo and finish by hand
Not ideal for
Teams that need a long vendor track record, annual or non-INR billing, offline editing, open-source or self-hosted software, or an AI that publishes to social accounts for them
Who it's for
Video creators, freelance editors, agencies and small marketing teams who want an AI assistant or an AI employee to do editing work on a timeline they can review and change
Arsaze treats the editor itself as the product an agent uses, rather than bolting a chat box onto a timeline. Exposing projects, timeline edits, color, audio, captions, review and rendering as MCP tools, with live playback and automatic versioning, makes agent editing something you can supervise and undo instead of a black-box render. Tab covers the opposite end: small, repetitive follow-up edits that are faster to accept with one key than to describe. The free desktop features and the ability to connect your own assistant on the Free plan make it cheap to try. The caution is maturity: it launched at the end of September 2026, comes from a small company, bills monthly in rupees, and its AI employee is narrow (talking heads, podcasts and public-site demos). It is a reasonable bet for creators and small teams already living in Claude or ChatGPT; teams that need a proven vendor or offline editing should wait.
Who should use it
Creators, freelance editors and small content teams who already work in Claude, ChatGPT or Grok and want to hand cutting, captioning and grading to that assistant on a timeline they can watch and correct, plus teams that want a Slack-based AI editor for talking-head reels, podcast clips or website demos.
Who should skip it
Organizations that need an established vendor, annual contracts or billing in currencies other than rupees, editors who must work fully offline, buyers who require open-source or self-hosted software, and anyone who expects the AI to publish to social accounts or record demos behind a login.

Free tier limits: The Free plan includes the full editor, Tab, MCP connection for your own assistant, and the desktop app's free local transcription (English), background removal, motion tracking and exports. The built-in AI assistant, AI generation, Animate Studio, cloud transcription and in-browser background removal need a paid plan or a credit pack.
Note: Prices are in Indian rupees, billed monthly through Razorpay, which accepts international cards. AI credits pay for generation, voiceover, music and sound effects, the built-in assistant, AI-assisted edits and cloud transcription. Connecting your own assistant over MCP and editing with it works on the Free plan; generating new media through it needs a paid plan or credits. Everyday editing, visual analysis of uploads and anything run on your own computer in the desktop app use no credits. One-time credit packs (₹196 for 100 credits up to ₹7,350 for 5,000) work on any plan, never expire, and are used after monthly credits run out; buying one on Free switches you to pay as you go. The AI employee is included in every paid plan using the same credits, or can be used pay as you go with a credit pack and 50 GB of storage. Cloud exports count against monthly export hours; local exports in the desktop app do not.
Modalities
Text, Video, Audio, Image
Solo creator cleaning up a talking-head video
Claude, connected over MCP, cuts silences and filler words, adds captions and exports a vertical version, while each edit plays back on the timeline and can be undone or adjusted by hand.
Marketing team without an in-house editor
Teammates @mention the AI employee in a Slack channel with founder interview footage and a brief, see the credit estimate up front, and approve or request changes to the finished reel in the same thread.
Editor finishing in a professional NLE
An assistant does the rough cut, captions and grade in Arsaze, then the project is exported as FCPXML to finish in DaVinci Resolve or Premiere Pro.
Arsaze vs. invideo
invideo Editor is a cloud-only browser editor built around its own editing agents and a large catalog of generation models, and its MCP server documents a wider client list (including coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex and Cursor). Arsaze officially documents Claude, ChatGPT and Grok as MCP clients, but adds a desktop app with free local transcription, background removal and exports, local projects that keep footage off the cloud, Tab next-edit suggestions, and an AI employee you brief in Slack or Instagram.
Arsaze vs. Descript
Descript is built around transcript-first, document-style editing with its own built-in AI co-editor, Underlord. Arsaze also lets you cut by editing the transcript, but its main surface is a multi-track timeline with color grading (wheels, curves, HSL secondaries, LUTs), and its central agent route is your own assistant (Claude, ChatGPT or Grok) operating that timeline over MCP.
Arsaze vs. OpenVids
OpenVids is a free, open-source desktop editor where a Director agent and specialists edit local project files using your own model keys, with no account. Arsaze is a hosted, closed-source editor with an account, cloud and desktop apps, and paid AI credits, where external assistants connect over MCP and edits are versioned in your account.
What is Arsaze?
Arsaze is a video editor with a multi-track timeline that you can edit by hand and that AI assistants can operate through its MCP server. It runs in the browser at arsaze.com and as a desktop app for Windows, Linux and Apple silicon Macs (beta). It is made by Sidhilynx, an MSME-registered startup in Chennai, India, whose founder and CEO, Arshad Azeez M, created it.
How do I connect Claude or ChatGPT to Arsaze?
Add https://api.arsaze.com/mcp as a custom connector. In Claude, go to Settings, Connectors, Add custom connector; in ChatGPT, add a custom MCP connector with the same URL; in Grok, use grok.com/connectors, New Connector, Custom. The first time, you sign in to your Arsaze account and approve the client. No API key is needed, and any client that supports remote MCP over Streamable HTTP with OAuth 2.1 can use the same URL.
How much does Arsaze cost?
There is a Free plan with the full editor, and paid monthly plans billed in Indian rupees: Basic at ₹490, Pro at ₹2,450 and Studio at ₹9,800 a month, which add AI credits, storage and cloud export hours. Enterprise pricing is agreed with the team. One-time credit packs, from ₹196 for 100 credits to ₹7,350 for 5,000, work on any plan and never expire.
What is the Arsaze AI employee?
It is an AI video editor you message in Slack, Instagram DMs or on arsaze.com. You send footage or a Google Drive or Dropbox link and say what you need, and it edits talking-head and short-form videos, podcast episodes with vertical clips, or narrated demos of public websites in your brand kit. It tells you roughly how many credits a job will use before starting. It is included in every paid plan, or you can use it pay as you go with a credit pack, which includes 50 GB of storage.
Can I use Arsaze without uploading my footage?
Yes. In the desktop app, local projects keep video, audio and images on your computer, and both the built-in assistant and MCP-connected assistants can still edit them. The timeline and version history are stored in your Arsaze account, so you need to be online while editing.
Is Arsaze open source?
No. Arsaze is a commercial, closed-source product. The arsaze-mcp repository on GitHub only documents how to connect to the hosted MCP server.
Arsaze vs invideo: what is the difference?
Both are browser timeline editors that AI assistants can operate over MCP. invideo is cloud-only and centers on its own editing agents and a large catalog of generation models billed in credits. Arsaze centers on letting your own assistant (Claude, ChatGPT or Grok) operate the timeline, which works on its Free plan, and adds Tab next-edit suggestions, a desktop app with free local transcription and exports, and an AI employee you brief in Slack or Instagram.
invideo
Creators, agencies, and in-house marketing and film teams who edit in the browser and want AI agents to handle logging, first cuts, multicam, sound design, effects, and missing shots on a timeline they can take over at any frame
Freemium
Descript
Creators, podcasters, and content or marketing teams who want fast, text-based video and audio editing with AI cleanup
Freemiumbazodev (open source)
Solo creators, YouTubers and editors on Apple Silicon Macs or Windows PCs who want AI agents to do rough cuts, captions, motion graphics and sound passes on their own footage, keep media on their disk, and are comfortable bringing their own model provider key and installing early-stage software
FreeArsaze is a non-linear editor first: tracks, clips, trims, splits, ripple edits, transitions, keyframes, color wheels, curves, HSL secondaries and LUTs, plus audio ducking and loudness normalization. Every clip is transcribed word by word, so you can also cut by deleting text. What sets it apart is that the whole editor is exposed as tools on a remote MCP server at api.arsaze.com/mcp. You add it as a custom connector in Claude, ChatGPT or Grok, sign in with OAuth (no API keys), and the assistant can list projects, search assets, edit the timeline, grade color, mix audio, generate media, add captions, create review links and render. Each tool call plays back live in the open project and is versioned as it happens, so you can watch, undo or take over by hand. Connecting your own assistant and editing with it works on the Free plan; Arsaze's built-in assistant, Animate Studio and AI generation need a paid plan or a credit pack. Two other agent-style features sit around the editor. Tab shows the next edit you were likely to make as a preview on the timeline (cutting the other pauses, dropping retakes, matching a grade, keeping captions in sync) and applies it with one key; it is on every plan. The AI employee is a video editor you message in Slack, Instagram DMs or on arsaze.com: send footage or a Drive or Dropbox link and a brief, and it edits talking-head videos, podcast episodes with vertical clips, or narrated demos of public websites in your brand kit, quotes the credits before starting, and remembers rules from your change requests. Arsaze runs in the browser and as a desktop app for Windows, Linux and Apple silicon Macs (beta), where transcription, background removal and exports run locally for free and local projects keep footage on your computer. Edits export as MP4 or as FCPXML for DaVinci Resolve and Premiere Pro. The tradeoffs: it is a very young, closed-source product from a small company (launched September 29, 2026), prices are in Indian rupees with monthly billing, the desktop app still needs an internet connection, and the AI employee cannot sign in to your product or post to social accounts.
Arsaze's maker posted it to Hacker News as a Show HN, presenting it as Cursor for video editing, with Tab-complete and agent edits.
Arsaze added Tab, which previews the next edit you were likely to make on the timeline, such as cutting matching pauses, dropping retakes, matching a grade or keeping captions in sync, and applies it with one key. It is available on every plan, including Free.
The built-in Arsaze assistant and assistants connected over MCP can now edit local projects whose footage stays on your computer. AI access can be switched off per project or per computer.
Arsaze launched as a multi-track video editor that people edit by hand and AI assistants operate through a remote MCP server.
