Axonius AI Workforce

Axonius · Axonius AI Workforce: Virtual Workers That Triage Exposures and Act on Axonius Asset Data

Open Axonius AI Workforce

Axonius AI Workforce is a set of AI Virtual Workers built into the Axonius Asset Cloud that run after every discovery cycle, track one security or IT outcome each (such as exposure triage, shadow AI or post-quantum cryptography readiness), report what changed, and can open tickets and cases or run enforcements and workflows, with per-action approval settings. It is for security and IT teams that already run Axonius on its SaaS deployment; it is not a standalone product.

Best for

Security and IT operations teams that already run Axonius on its SaaS deployment, ingest most of their tools through adapters, and want ongoing follow-up work (exposure triage, coverage gaps, ticket routing) done by agents that ask before they change anything

Not ideal for

Organizations that do not use Axonius or run it self-hosted, teams that want a standalone security agent or a pentesting tool, buyers who need published prices, and teams that want to choose or host their own model

Who it's for

Security engineering, vulnerability management, endpoint security, identity and IT operations teams at organizations that run Axonius Asset Cloud

Capabilities

  • More than 50 Axonius-built Virtual Worker types, each owning one outcome such as Exposures Triage, Threat Intelligence, Shadow AI, Data Completeness or Post-Quantum Cryptography Readiness
  • Workers are grouped by department (for example Vulnerability Management, Endpoint Security, Identity & Access Management), each listing a typical owner role
  • A built-in AI Workforce account runs every enabled worker after each discovery cycle; cadence can be changed per worker
  • Briefings with a headline metric and its change since the last run, a summary of findings, the actions taken or previewed, and recommended next steps
  • Daily Digest and a Homepage that rank top insights and list the changes waiting for a decision
  • Per-action modes for writes such as Create Ticket, Create Case, Run Enforcement and Run Workflow: Off, Human in the loop (preview and wait for approval) or Live (apply automatically), with a recommended starting mode for each
  • Max writes per run limit for each worker (1 to 100, default 10)
  • Approve, Decline (with Undo) or Always Approve on proposed changes; approved changes go through a final approval card in the AI chat
  • Standing instructions of up to 4,000 characters that apply to a worker on every run
  • Custom workers defined by a prompt of up to 2,000 characters, run on a schedule or after each discovery cycle or adapter fetch, with optional email delivery of each report
  • AI Workforce Manager, a worker that reports which workers are stale, never ran or need attention
  • Activity log for every run, with the option to open and clone a run's conversation in the AI Companion

Limitations

  • Requires an Axonius platform deployment; there is no standalone AI Workforce product
  • Available only on Axonius-hosted (SaaS) deployments, not on self-hosted Axonius
  • A worker can run only when its requirements are in place, such as a specific adapter (for example ServiceNow for CMDB workers), the Exposures module, or the relevant data in the inventory
  • Runs on Anthropic models in a private instance per customer; there is no documented option to bring your own model
  • Usage is metered in AI credits (one credit per AI turn) from expiring promotional and purchased buckets, and users or organizational workers without an allowance are blocked
  • No public pricing for the Axonius platform or for AI credits was found
  • Users restricted to a data scope cannot see the AI Workforce's runs or Daily Digest and cannot use write tools in custom workers
  • For some regions (ap-southeast-1, ap-northeast-2, sa-east-1 and me-central-1), Axonius says AI processing runs in other geographic regions

Use cases

  • Getting a ranked morning briefing of what changed overnight, such as how many open findings now clear your ticketing policy, without building reports
  • Letting a worker preview the tickets or cases it would create in Human in the loop mode, then approving or declining them before anything reaches the ticketing system
  • Tracking unsanctioned AI use in the environment with a Shadow AI worker
  • Following post-quantum cryptography readiness over time with the Post-Quantum Cryptography Readiness worker's headline metric
  • Writing a custom worker that runs after a specific adapter fetch, checks for a condition you describe in its prompt, and previews cases or tickets for the matching assets
  • Spotting gaps in asset data with a Data Completeness worker

Our take

AI Workforce is the clearest case in this list of an agent whose value comes from the data it sits on rather than the model. If Axonius already ingests most of your tools, you get dozens of workers that start reporting after the first discovery cycle and can draft the tickets, cases and tags that usually wait for an analyst; if it does not, many workers sit in Set up waiting for an adapter or module. The control model is more granular than most security agents: modes per action, a write cap per run, a final approval card in chat, and actions that can never be automated. Start with Human in the loop, see which proposals your team approves without edits, and move only those actions to Live. Evaluate it as part of an Axonius purchase or renewal, not as a separate tool, and get the credit terms in writing, since the documentation describes expiring buckets and a free trial period for automated runs that may change.

Who should use it

Existing Axonius SaaS customers whose vulnerability, endpoint, identity or IT teams spend time chasing follow-up work across tools, and who want agents that report on a fixed cadence and prepare changes for approval.

Who should skip it

Organizations that do not run Axonius or run it self-hosted, teams shopping for a standalone AI security agent or a pentesting service, and teams that need to pick their own model or see published prices first.

Strengths

  • Works from a reconciled, cross-tool asset inventory instead of one vendor's partial view
  • Ships with more than 50 ready-made workers that run after each discovery cycle once AI is enabled and each worker's adapters, modules or data are in place
  • Per-action Off, Human in the loop and Live modes, a write cap per run, and a final approval card give fine-grained control over what changes
  • High-risk actions such as user and role management always require a human
  • Every action is logged as agent-driven or human-driven
  • Each customer gets a private model instance, and Axonius says customer data is not used to train global models

Weaknesses

  • Only available to Axonius customers on the SaaS deployment
  • Value depends on how many of your tools Axonius already ingests
  • No choice of model provider
  • Credit-metered usage with no published prices
  • Users restricted to a data scope get a reduced experience

Axonius AI Workforce pricing

Axonius platform with AI credits

Contact sales

  • Part of the Axonius Asset Cloud (SaaS deployment)
  • One credit per AI turn in the AI Companion or a worker run
  • Promotional and purchased credit buckets with expiry dates and no monthly reset
  • One-time starter credits when AI is first enabled

Note: No public prices were found for the Axonius platform or AI credits. Credits are allocated by administrators per user or role, and users without an allowance are blocked. The Credit Management page says automated Axonius runs are free for a trial period and that credit allocation may be required later; runs of built-in workers, featured flows and the Daily Digest do not count against the AI Workforce account's allowance.

Technical specs

Where Axonius AI Workforce excels

Exposure triage after every discovery cycle

An Exposures Triage worker reports how many open findings clear the ticketing policy and how that number moved since the last run, and in Human in the loop mode it previews the tickets it would create, so analysts approve or decline them instead of building the query and the tickets by hand.

Shadow AI inventory

A Shadow AI worker runs on the same reconciled inventory as the rest of Axonius and reports its headline metric after every discovery cycle, so the team sees whether unsanctioned AI use is growing or shrinking without a custom report.

Gradual automation of routine fixes

Teams can keep actions in Human in the loop, review what each worker proposes, and use Always Approve to move specific actions to Live once they trust them, with a write cap per run as a backstop.

How Axonius AI Workforce fits alongside other tools

Axonius AI Workforce and Hadrian

Hadrian's agents work from the outside in, discovering an organization's internet-facing assets and testing which exposures an attacker could actually exploit. Axonius AI Workforce works from the inside, on the inventory Axonius builds from a company's own tools, and triages findings and routes remediation. One validates external attack surface; the other organizes and acts on internal asset and exposure data.

Axonius AI Workforce and Claude

Claude can read Axonius data through the Axonius MCP Server with a read-only token, which suits ad hoc questions in a general assistant. AI Workforce runs inside Axonius on a schedule, keeps outcome metrics over time, and can propose or apply changes such as tickets and enforcements under the platform's approval controls.

Frequently asked questions

What is Axonius AI Workforce?

It is a set of AI Virtual Workers inside the Axonius platform. Each worker owns one outcome, such as exposure triage, shadow AI or post-quantum cryptography readiness, runs after every discovery cycle, reports a headline metric and what changed, and can propose or apply actions such as creating tickets or cases, running enforcements or running workflows.

Do I need Axonius to use AI Workforce?

Yes. AI Workforce is part of the Axonius Asset Cloud and works on the asset data Axonius collects through its adapters. The documentation says it is available on Axonius-hosted deployments only. Axonius AI is switched on in AI Settings (Axonius says it is off by default for existing customers and on by default for new customers during a proof of value), and administrators give users or roles credit allowances.

What are the Off, Shadow and Live modes?

They control how far a worker goes on its own. The launch announcement describes Off (approval needed for everything), Shadow (preview what the worker would do) and Live (act automatically within guardrails). In the product documentation, each write action is set to Off (the worker does not take it), Human in the loop (preview and wait for approval) or Live (apply automatically on every run), with a recommended starting mode per action.

Can AI Workforce make changes without approval?

Yes, for actions set to Live by a user with the AI Workforce admin permissions. Axonius says the workforce requires confirmation by default and recommends Human in the loop as the starting mode for most actions; the launch announcement adds that routine work such as dashboard creation and asset labeling runs without review, while outbound communication and changes to connected systems wait for approval. High-risk actions such as user and role management can never be automated. Each worker also has a cap on writes per run, and every action is logged as agent-driven or human-driven.

Which AI model does Axonius AI Workforce use?

Axonius says the AI Companion and AI Workforce rely on Anthropic and that each customer is provisioned a private LLM instance in its own dedicated environment. Axonius also says customer data is not used to train or retrain the global models.

How much does Axonius AI Workforce cost?

No public pricing was found. Axonius meters AI use in credits, where one credit is one AI turn in the AI Companion or a worker run, drawn from promotional and purchased buckets that expire. The Credit Management page notes that automated Axonius runs are free for a trial period, and that runs of built-in workers and the Daily Digest do not count against the AI Workforce allowance. Pricing for the platform and credits comes through Axonius sales.

Can I build my own workers?

Yes. A custom worker is defined by a prompt of up to 2,000 characters, a department, and a recurrence: a fixed schedule, every discovery cycle, or every successful fetch of a chosen adapter connection. Each write tool gets its own Off, Human in the loop or Live mode. Personal workers use the owner's credits; organizational workers run as the AI Workforce account.

Can Claude or ChatGPT access Axonius data?

Through the Axonius MCP Server. Once an administrator turns on login-based connections, Claude (web, desktop and mobile), ChatGPT and Claude Code can connect with a user's own Axonius login and receive a read-only token valid for 24 hours, limited to the tools the user selects and what the user's role can see. That connection cannot change anything in Axonius.

About Axonius AI Workforce

Axonius sells a cyber asset and exposure management platform that pulls device, user, software, cloud and vulnerability data from the tools a company already runs (Axonius cites more than 1,400 bidirectional integrations) and reconciles it into one inventory. AI Workforce, generally available since October 19, 2026 alongside the AI Companion chat and the Axonius MCP Server, puts agents on top of that inventory. Axonius ships more than 50 Virtual Worker types, grouped into departments such as Vulnerability Management, Endpoint Security and Identity & Access Management, each with a typical owner role. A built-in AI Workforce account runs each enabled worker after every discovery cycle, so briefings start arriving after the first completed cycle without anyone writing a query or a scheduled report. Each briefing leads with a headline metric and how it moved since the last run, then a summary, the actions the worker took or previewed, and suggested next steps; a Daily Digest ranks the most urgent findings on the AI Workforce homepage. A worker becomes active only when its inputs exist: the right adapter is connected (CMDB workers need ServiceNow, for example), a module such as Exposures is enabled, or the data is in the inventory. Control is set per action. Each write a worker can make, such as Create Ticket, Create Case, Run Enforcement or Run Workflow, is set to Off, Human in the loop (preview and wait for approval) or Live (apply automatically), with a recommended starting mode and a cap on writes per run (10 by default). The launch announcement calls these modes Off, Shadow and Live. Changes approved from a notification still pass through a final approval card in the chat, high-risk actions such as user and role management can never be automated, and every action is logged as agent-driven or human-driven. Teams can also write custom workers from a prompt of up to 2,000 characters on a schedule or an event trigger. The tradeoffs: it only exists inside an Axonius deployment, and only the Axonius-hosted SaaS version; its usefulness depends on how much of your environment Axonius already ingests; it runs on Anthropic models in a private instance per customer rather than a model you choose; and usage is metered in AI credits, while Axonius publishes no prices for the platform or credits.

Updates from Axonius AI Workforce

LaunchAI Workforce generally available with AI Companion and MCP Server

Axonius made AI Workforce generally available to Axonius customers, with more than 50 Virtual Worker types, Off, Shadow and Live autonomy modes, approval checkpoints for sensitive actions, and an audit trail separating agent-driven from human-driven actions. The AI Companion chat and the Axonius MCP Server, announced in July, moved to general availability at the same time.
